Transformation Wish

I wish I could transform

Honey I can feel you

As if we were two trees

Embalmed by bamboo

Ringed with bumblebees

Covered in resin and dew

Repaired by a breeze

I wish I could transform

Honey I can’t feel you

Like glistening gray stone

You keep sleeping on through

Even the gargoyles will atone

Made of vantablack residue

Through maintenance alone

I wish I could transform

Honey I can feel you

In vessel, cog, and shadow

Embalming this fierce taboo

Our shells we must outgrow

To advance our worldview

I wish I could transform

Honey I can’t feel you

As the rebis transfer withdrew

Its light turns our papyrus blue

Cosmic trees cast shadows too

Only repair can find what’s true
