Yellowjackets In The Wallflowers
Made of bone and seed
It’s blade ornate and silver
Now monarch turned steed
Matter it misuses
Like chess with checkers
It’s edge it abuses
“Hey complexity,
My spark wasn’t illuminated, it was sucked out of me and worn down.
I self-sabotaged and when you got confused that got you upset because I couldn’t keep up.
You kept me in the dark for feeling confused then punished me.
Do please forgive me.”
Smells like mulberry
Blonde hairs braided with hemp beads
Brimming with motley
In the walls live great wasps with wings made of ashen paper
That morph into psychopomps with torcs of distorted rage
Cloaked and cadaverous with fingers powered by arcane
Who are afraid of adhesives and eat cosmic garlands
Revenants that control the threshold and wield the withered
Cicadas chirp and play on blue horns and ochre fiddles
Yellowjackets in the wallflowers dance as they cry out
As they peel off, turn to pulp, and wrinkle back In-Between
Striped alabaster
Composed of monoplaster
Screaming go faster
“Hello syntropy,
My spark wasn’t dimmed, it was beaten out of me and broken down.
I self-sabotaged and when you got upset that got you confused because I couldn’t keep up.
You kept me in the dark then punished me for feeling confused.
Do please forgive me.”
Calling to fulfill
Like a game of telephone
Liminally ill
You miss the old me
And I yearn for the old you
Like long time no see
